WHAT TYPES OF TRAINING METHODS DO YOU USE?
CreativeK9 believes in using balanced training methods to support effective communication between a dog and their handler. We are not opposed to the use of any training tools used properly, and we will always recommend what we feel is going to be the most effective for your dog. That being said, there is more than one way to train a dog. If a handler is uncomfortable using a specific tool on their dog, we will work as a team to find a tool that everyone is comfortable with, including the dog. We utilize treats, toys, and rewards as much as possible, and utilize a correction/reward ratio that is completely dog-dependent and will be discussed at our initial consult.
WHAT TYPES OF TRAINING DOES CREATIVEK9 SOLUTIONS OFFER?
We specialize in behavioral modification. Our largest focus is on creating a relationship between a dog and it's handler that supports a healthy mental environment for the dog, and enables your pet to become a productive member of your household. In addition to working with aggressive, anxious, fearful, or un-confident dogs, we also love to teach manners and obedience, as well as trick training. We offer a variety of services at a level that is custom to you and your dog. Please note: We will not task-train a service dog. If you are seeking service dog training, CreativeK9 can help you and your dog nail the public access portion of training, but you will need to find a specialized trainer to train your dog for specific forms of assistance.
WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO SIGN UP?
Simple! Just give us a call, text, facebook message, or email! However you prefer to contact us, we will walk you through the rest!
WHAT DO I BRING TO CLASS, AND WHO CAN ATTEND?
In order for your pet to be successful in our classes, we require a non-retractable leash that is not longer than 8' in length. At your consult, we will recommend any training tools we believe your pup can benefit from. Please bring the recommended tools to class with you, to use on your dog. We also encourage you to provide treats, or a favorite toy. Whatever will motivate your dog, and encourage them to want to listen to you.
While we will allow you to bring whomever you'd like to your training sessions, we ask that the same person is handling your dog as often as possible during our training. This helps keep things consistent and clear for your furry friend. Children are allowed to attend the sessions, but will need approval in order to engage in training.
